Eligibility

On the Spectrum Foundation’s Visual Art Education Scholarship Competition & Exhibition 2023 is open to Neurodivergent artists (Autism/ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia, Disnomia, Dysgraphia, Hyperlexia, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Epilepsy, Tourette Syndrome, etc.)

that are currently enrolled in a higher education institution in Tarrant County, Texas.

*Viewer’s Choice voting will take place during the exhibition opening reception on Thursday, March 23rd from 2:00PM-4:00PM at the Tarrant County College Southeast Campus – Art Corridor II.

Eligibility: On the Spectrum Foundation’s Visual Art Education Scholarship Competition & Exhibition 2023 is open to Neurodivergent artists (Autism/ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia, Disnomia, Dysgraphia, Hyperlexia, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Epilepsy, Tourette Syndrome, etc) that are currently enrolled in a higher education institution in Tarrant County, Texas. Works may be of any medium (except video and performance). All works must be original and completed within THE LAST TWO YEARS. Works too old or too large will be disqualified. All works must be available through the entire run of the exhibition.

Entry Fee and Procedures: One or two digital images may be submitted through the On the Spectrum Foundation’s website, via Google forms. FREE of charge.

Size Limitations: Two-dimensional works, when displayed, cannot exceed 48” in height or width, including frame. Three-dimensional works cannot exceed 24” in height, 14” in width, and 14” in depth. The weight limitation of each packaged work must not exceed 50 lbs.

Submitting Images for Jurying: All entries (information and images) will be accepted through the On the Spectrum Foundation’s website, via Google forms.

  • Each entrant may submit up to two digital images of two different art works.

  • Each work must be represented by only one image (no detail views or duplicates)

Exhibition selections for On the Spectrum Foundation’s Visual Art Education Scholarship Competition & Exhibition 2023 will be announced via e-mail during the week of February 20, 2023. Exhibition dates are March 20 – April 28, 2023.

Drop-Off/Pick-Up: Artists have the option to hand-deliver/pick-up work if arrangements are made in advance with the gallery curator of Tarrant County College Southeast Campus (2100 Southeast Parkway, Arlington, TX 76018). Works must arrive by Monday, March 6, 2023. Works arriving after the due date risk not being included in the exhibition. Detailed instructions will be sent to those artists whose works are accepted by the jurors.

Shipping: Accepted work must be sent at the artist’s expense, properly and securely packed in a single reusable carton (NO Styrofoam peanuts). Works must be shipped ready for installation. All 2-D works must have hangers or be wired for hanging. Plexiglas must be used instead of glass in framing. Works must arrive by Monday, March 6, 2023. Works arriving after the due date risk not being included in the exhibition. Important Return Shipping Information: Each reusable carton must include a pre-paid return-shipping label, which also includes pre-paid insurance. Detailed instructions will be sent to those artists whose works are accepted by the jurors.

ANY ARTWORKS THAT DO NOT HAVE RETURN SHIPPING, ARE ABANDONED, OR NOT CLAIMED BY MAY 10, 2023 WILL BECOME THE PROPERTY OF TARRANT COUNTY COLLEGE SOUTHEAST CAMPUS.
